In the blink of an eye

Sugar Loaf in Rio de JaneiroGloriaMe and Neymar

And just like that the World Cup is over. One hundred fifty hours of football later, it’s hard to believe that a month has already passed! Oh what fun I’ve had! The U.S. had a decent showing (darn you Belgium), and there were some great surprises (Costa Rica, Colombia). There were also some unfortunate surprises too (Spain). There was a meltdown (Brazil). And then there was Germany, the most solid team, who outlasted a brave Argentina. It was a great tournament!

In Rio, the atmosphere was great. From the crazy overloaded Fifa Fan Fest in Copacabana beach to the packed little bars in Flamengo, my neighborhood. The energy has been incredible! Being at the World Cup has been a great experience. And I’ve made some great new friendships along the way. You all know who you are!

Soccer aside, plenty of new songs are taking shape. There has plenty of inspiration while traveling, and I am doing my best to harness it. So far, I have at least 20 new songs in the works. Some in the final stages, some still simmering. And new ideas keep rolling in. I’m looking forward to recording some of these songs later this year or early next year. But in the meantime, I’m going to keep writing!

And with that, I’m gonna go grab my guitar. You can follow me on Instagram: @jasonnorman and Twitter: jasonnorman314.

Until next post!

Very best from Rio de Janeiro,
